Episode 15- The Blair Witch Project (1999)

This special guest episode is brought to you by our friend Rob, who really loves "The Blair Witch Project." In this episode, we discuss such important matters as the official drug of the 90's, SNICK, mom jeans, found footage foibles and the comforts of staying indoors.

If you like what you hear, please tell a friend! Werewolf Ambulance is a horror movie comedy podcast.

Episode 14- Ghost Ship (2002)

Guys, you're going to have to help us with this episode. So many of you said such nice things about the 2002 supernatural horror film "Ghost Ship" (aka "Horror Titanic") and we just did not see it. In this episode, we discuss inexplicable soundtracks, movies we'd rather be watching, dozens of nautical puns, television hospital dramas, whether British children are scarier than children of other nationalities and overly convenient spear guns.

Let us know what you think--what are we missing about this one??

Also, in this episode we reference another local podcast called "Matt and Ryan Get Board" that you can check out at mattandryangetboard.libsyn.com

Episode 13- Phantom of the Paradise (1974)

In this episode, we get deep into the 1974 Brian De Palma horror comedy rock opera spectacular "Phantom of the Paradise." Topics we cover include: buttery flowing hair, fever dreams, a drunk Stevie Nicks, life in the 1970's and the wonder that is BEEF.

Apologies for the sound quality on this episode; it was Swan's fault and most definitely not ours. Big thanks to Steve (https://www.facebook.com/permanenthearingdamage) for helping us rescue it. We'll be back in our regular studio next week.

Episode 12- The Happening (2008)

So, did we hate the 2008 horror disaster "The Happening" as much as every other human being on the planet who endured it did? You'll have to download the episode to find out but, spoiler alert... the answer is "probably." Some points of discussion include: being 'The Ruiner', vacant stares, natural horror done right, 'How It's Made: Wind Edition', what science actually does and a lengthy thesis on the movie "My Girl."

As always, if you liked this episode, please tell a friend! And if you reaaaally liked it, please consider giving us a rating and/or review on iTunes.

Episode 11- The Babadook (2014)

In this week's episode we discuss the 2014 Australian horror film "The Babadook," which brings us a rare visit to 'Pap-Pap's Compliment Corner' along with discussions of the most dangerous continent, purchasing weaponry on the internet, presidents serving non-consecutive terms in office, insomnia and a few theories on what the Babadook actually is. We want to hear from you: what's your theory? What did you think of this movie? Please post it on our Facebook page, facebook.com/werewolfambulance.

We also referenced a couple things in this episode that we'd like to give you links for:

The book "The Thing" by Dylan Trigg: http://www.zero-books.net/books/thing

And last but most certainly not least, a picture of Mortiis from Emperor: http://graphics.ink19.com/issues/june2000/mortiisW.jpeg

Episode 10- Frightmare (1974)

In this episode, we are joined by special guest Mike Bolam to discuss the 1974 film "Frightmare" in which we are treated to lovely British people maiming, killing and ultimately eating their victims amid a backdrop of discos and family drama.

Some topics of discussion in this episode include: teenage brats, eye horror, out-of-control grannies, lying about lies, the exposition scenes in porn and the inappropriateness of forced psychiatry.

The special outro music in this episode is a song called "Beyond the Seventh Door" by Mike's band Abysme. You can find more of their recordings and information at www.facebook.com/abysme.

Episode 9- Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)

In this episode, we celebrate one of the very few Christmas movies worth mentioning: the 1984 holiday spectacular "Silent Night, Deadly Night." Some topics of discussion include PUNISHMENT, extreme stereotyping of Italians, a low bra count, things you should and should not say to children, shitty nuns and lots and lots of talk about taints. Does this movie help to turn Katie into less of Scrooge-like jerk about Christmas? You'll have to download the episode to find out!

We hope that you enjoy this episode and that you have a safe, happy and axe-wielding-maniac-free week. Happy Holidays from your friends at Werewolf Ambulance!

Episode 8- I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)

As it turns out, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" is maybe not-so-good...but then, what horror movie from the 1990s is? We delve into that topic as well as trying somewhat fruitlessly to deconstruct the plot of this movie in this week's episode. Some other points of discussion include: stuff that doesn't make any sense, other movies, 90s soundtracks, more other movies, the agelessness of David from "Roseanne", free admission to the strip club and how Jennifer Love Hewitt is utterly perfect. If you like this episode, please check out our other episodes, rate and/or review us on iTunes and tell a friend!

Episode 7- Ju-on: The Grudge (2002)

In this week's episode about the 2002 thriller "Ju-on: The Grudge", we dive headfirst into the world of Japanese ghost stories and Allen stands strongly in defense of movies that maaayyybe aren't that great but stay with you for a long time anyway. Topics include the Twizzler effect, the American urge to smash all subtlety, wig attacks, super running and the necessity of Post-It notes. Please take a listen and let us know what you think! If you like it, please also tell a friend.

Episode 6- Alucarda (1978)

This week's episode of Werewolf Ambulance finds us going slightly mad over a movie that is definitely not for the faint of heart. In our review of the 1978 Mexican horror film "Alucarda" we get into Catholicism, high school boyfriends, unexpected beheadings, the strong bonds between women, Satan's role at an orgy and when it's appropriate to ask the questions "what?" and "why?" over and over and over. Join us for this descent into madness and as always, we'd love to hear your feedback!

The special outro song in this episode is "Choking on Melting Teeth" from our friend 8cylinder here in Pittsburgh (rhinoplex.org/8cylinder) who has releases available on 10" records and digital formats at Unmapped North (unmappednorth.bandcamp.com)
