Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast

In this week's episode, we're tackling a listener suggestion from friend of the podcast Leah Ashley-- the absolutely horrendous 2006 supernatural horror film "The Gravedancers." THANKS A LOT. Special topics for your consideration include: smelling your partner's jacket just for funsies, knowing anything about Chopin, a surprising connection to "Bring it On," a very special listener mail and CULPEPPER!

This episode also features an extremely great outro song by A. Wallis called "EMT." Seriously, we have the best listeners, hands down.

Please don't forget to donate to National Lawyers Guild for our fundraising drive to support Black Lives Matter. All you have to do is donate to National Lawyers Guild (nlg.org) and forward us a receipt at werewolfambulance@gmail.com, send us a screenshot or tag us on social media. We'll be matching 10% of your donations and if we hit $2,500 in the month of June, I (Katie) will touch a horse. On video. We already have the horse lined up. On one hand, I want to raise a lot of money for a seriously good cause; on the other hand, I kind of want to faint when I think about actually touching a horse. As of the posting of this episode, we're just about 25% of the way there.

There were high highs and low lows of horror in the year 2006, and we've covered a bunch of them. One high- Episode 127- "Slither." One low- Episode 111- "Silent Hill." One that transcends ratings? Episode 108- "The Wicker Man."

Have you been thinking about buying a t-shirt but perhaps none of the designs spoke to you? Then we are certain you'll love our brand new design by the inimitable Justin Gray, "Close Enough, Lucio!" You can get this design printed on a t-shirt, cell phone case, throw pillow and more weird items at www.teepublic.com/user/werewolfambulance

First, Black lives matter. We probably don't need to tell you, our wonderful listeners, but we're also trying to do some good with our platform. On that note, we're doing a fundraising drive: please donate to National Lawyers Guild (nlg.org) and forward us a receipt at werewolfambulance@gmail.com, send us a screenshot or tag us on social media. We'll be matching 10% of your donations and if we hit $2,500, I (Katie) will touch a horse. On video. We already have the horse lined up. Anyway, onto this week's episode. Yes, we know, we know, just because a movie has zombies does not make it a horror movie, but that's neither here nor there. This movie is actually horrifying. We're talking about the sequel to our most recent bonus episode, 1993's "Weekend at Bernie's II." Special topics for your consideration include: becoming a full-on sociopath overnight, what the hell happened to Gwen?, Terry Kiser continuing to be the GOAT even as actual goats parade around him, a complete lack of understanding about voodoo and the possibility that this movie was actually written by a team of children.

We have done approximately one billion zombie movies, so here are some of our favorite episodes: 92- "Dead Snow," 130- "Pontypool," 160- "Shaun of the Dead" and Episode 227- "Zombi 2." LUCIO!

I mean...why the hell not? In this brand new bonus episode, we're discussing the 1989 masterpiece (?) "Weekend at Bernie's." We hope you like it.

In this week's episode, we are rolling around in a pile of bad jokes and misunderstandings with the 1988 horror (?) comedy "Elvira: Mistress of the Dark." Special topics for your consideration include: imagining a world in which Tim Burton directed this film, 1980s perverts, the concept of a Vegas show about nothing and surprisingly less titty bell than one might expect. Unpleasant dreams, EMTs!

We have really never covered a film quite like this one. If you like it, you may also like Episode 274- "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken." Related, maybe check out some of our favorite horror comedies, including Episode 36- "Waxwork," Episode 144- "The Burbs" and Episode 236- "House."

In this week's episode, we're discussing "Amityville Horror." Oh, no, not the good one, the remake from 2005 starring Ryan Reynolds, Melissa George and Chloe Grace Moretz. That one. Special topics for your consideration include: Werewolf Ambulance beauty tips, Michael Bay and his Michael Bay energy, Steve Miller as a lifestyle, an absurd number of times to take one's shirt off (but if one has those abs, should one not??) and the age old question of what kills people: houses, or people?

Want some more Amityville madness? You can listen to Episode 90- "Amityville II: The Possession." More Melissa George? How about Episode 70- "30 Days of Night?" Finally, more CGM? You can check out Episode 232- "Suspiria" in which we basically lost our minds.

And if you just can't get enough of us, you can get our faces printed on a t-shirt, throw pillow and more at www.teepublic.com/user/werewolfambulance. If our faces aren't doing it for you, may we suggest Brian from "Wings"??

You know that times have been trying. We know that times have been trying. We know that everyone could use a bit more confused joy in their lives, so that's why we wanted you to watch the 1980 Fulci film "City of the Living Dead." Hoo boy. Special topics for your consideration include: the 'horseshoes and hand grenades' approach to filmmaking that Lucio Fulci employs, a squishy rotting bubblegum baby and a maggot storm!, a completely discarded timeline for funeral services, and Jerry: what is his deal?

Oh, Lucio. Catch Fulci's other works with Episode 72- "The Beyond" and Episode 227- "Zombi 2."

Okay, so maybe no one played Leonardo DiCaprio's mother in this film, and maybe the character of Fabrizio isn't Irish. At least now we know, because we watched "Titanic"! Well, we sort of watched "Titanic." Please join us on the conclusion of our own personal overseas voyage with this episode of corrections and retractions from Bonus Episode #3. We hope you like it.

In this week's episode, we're headed to a dumpy little house in the woods with the 1981 original entry into its film series, "The Evil Dead." Special topics for your consideration include: scenes that do not age well, the stereotype of an "Evil Dead dude," Davey & Goliath & Gumby, Allen's grave mistake (thanks, quarantine brainfog!) and lessons learned from this movie: never cross a bridge with a warning sign! Never enter a basement that is locked with chains! And NEVER play pranks, ya jerk.

Did you miss our discussion on the third installment of the series? You can catch it in Episode 229- "Army of Darkness." Do you like films that hat tip this one? You might enjoy Episode 16- "Cabin in the Woods."

In this week's episode, we're discussing the 2014 horror thriller "The Guest." Special topics for your consideration include: the hotness of Dan Stevens, the coolness of being a teen, the excitement of a film with Ethan Embry, the romance of making mix CDs and the joy of seeing famous people at the grocery store here in Hollywoodsburgh.

If you'd like to hear more about Adam Wingard's work, check out Episode 40- "You're Next." Want more Maika Monroe? There's always Episode 26- "It Follows." Dan Stevens? I guess you could watch "Downton Abbey."

In this week's episode, we decided to listen to what slightly less than half of you wanted and that was the 2000 film "Scream 3." Special topics for your consideration include: a franchise filled with unsatisfactory twists, a celebration of Parker Posey, a sad glimpse into the future of the Cox-Arquette marriage, the fact that we are getting decidedly stupider the longer we are quarantined and WHO IS THIS?!

Did you miss our other forays into the Scream universe? You can check out Episode 44- "Scream" and Episode 228- "Scre4m" and you can download em both with your red right hand.
