In this episode, we are joined by special guest Mike Bolam to discuss the 1974 film "Frightmare" in which we are treated to lovely British people maiming, killing and ultimately eating their victims amid a backdrop of discos and family drama. Some topics of discussion in this episode include: teenage brats, eye horror, out-of-control grannies, lying about lies, the exposition scenes in porn and the inappropriateness of forced psychiatry. The special outro music in this episode is a song called "Beyond the Seventh Door" by Mike's band Abysme. You can find more of their recordings and information at www.facebook.com/abysme. In this episode, we celebrate one of the very few Christmas movies worth mentioning: the 1984 holiday spectacular "Silent Night, Deadly Night." Some topics of discussion include PUNISHMENT, extreme stereotyping of Italians, a low bra count, things you should and should not say to children, shitty nuns and lots and lots of talk about taints. Does this movie help to turn Katie into less of Scrooge-like jerk about Christmas? You'll have to download the episode to find out! We hope that you enjoy this episode and that you have a safe, happy and axe-wielding-maniac-free week. Happy Holidays from your friends at Werewolf Ambulance! As it turns out, "I Know What You Did Last Summer" is maybe not-so-good...but then, what horror movie from the 1990s is? We delve into that topic as well as trying somewhat fruitlessly to deconstruct the plot of this movie in this week's episode. Some other points of discussion include: stuff that doesn't make any sense, other movies, 90s soundtracks, more other movies, the agelessness of David from "Roseanne", free admission to the strip club and how Jennifer Love Hewitt is utterly perfect. In this week's episode about the 2002 thriller "Ju-on: The Grudge", we dive headfirst into the world of Japanese ghost stories and Allen stands strongly in defense of movies that maaayyybe aren't that great but stay with you for a long time anyway. Topics include the Twizzler effect, the American urge to smash all subtlety, wig attacks, super running and the necessity of Post-It notes. Please take a listen and let us know what you think!
