Werewolf Ambulance: A Horror Movie Comedy Podcast (general)

Hello EMTs! No new episode this week, so we're inviting you to bask in the glory of the weird mind of Charles Band with the 1979 film "Tourist Trap." We released this one nearly six years ago, so we were like... practically babies! We hope you enjoy it.

In this week's episode, we're hanging out in one of our favorite genres: weird Italian shit of the 1970s! We've got the 1979 alien/jesus/horror cult classic "The Visitor." Also, someone call the authorities because somehow Allen has sold me on the aforementioned weird Italian shit and made me love it.

Special topics for your consideration include: the most beautiful blonde Jesus, ropey toes, Spaghetti House, fantastic Southern accents, pizzeria incidents, buying a child a raptor, and green screens for daaaays.

You wanna see more Franco Nero? You may like him as the sexiest Pope in Episode 444- "The Pope's Exorcist" AND THERE'S GONNA BE THREE MORE, HALLELUJAH, THANK YOU POPE FRANCO NERO. You like these weird Italians pretending to not be weird Italian? You'd probably like another movie by these weirdos, Episode 308- "Beyond the Door."

In this week's episode, we're celebrating Thanksgiving in February (as they say) with the 2023 Eli Roth film "Thanksgiving." Special topics for your consideration include: the return of teens approaching retirement age, hot takes on condiments, hot takes on breakfast foods, hot takes on Eli Roth's jokes, and a touch of eggplant.

Eli Roth is kinda silly but here we are. You can hear us discuss his work in Episode 179- "Cabin Fever" and Episode 315- "Knock Knock." You can also catch the then-fake trailer for this film in the Grindhouse series, which we covered in Episodes 329 and 330.

In this week's episode, we descend into the bleakest timeline with the absolutely brutal 2023 Argentine film "When Evil Lurks." Special topics for your consideration include: interesting internal logic, extremely gross dudes, wearing a beret and wearing it well, making tragedy all about yourself, and praying away the poop.

Want to hear about a few other movies that wrecked us emotionally? We've got Episode 224- "Hereditary," Episode 255- "Lake Mungo," and Episode 419- "The Dark and the Wicked."

Hello EMTs! This week, we were planning to discuss "The Peanut Butter Solution," but our pal Allen got COVID and I truly believe that it's not right to ask a man to watch weird Canadian children's cinema when he's ill, so we'll be back with that one next week. In the meantime, please enjoy this blast from the past with the re-release of our episode from 2016, "IT" (the 1990 miniseries). And I promise, the next time Allen gets sick, I'm doing the Brian-from-Wings-Shining all on my own. Have a great week, and we'll catch you next time.

In this week's episode, we're headed back to the Ti West well with the 2011 slow burn "The Innkeepers." Special topics for your consideration include: a surprising amount of hair metal references, a question of ghost belief, Allen's new term for Kelly McGillis, upsetting age gaps, and a wonderful letter from a listener.

Ti West is all over this podcast: Episode 172- "House of the Devil," Episode 396- "X," Episode 436- "V/H/S," and Episode 440- "Pearl."

In this week's episode, Katie 'celebrates' a milestone birthday with a gift for Allen: the 1980 Dario Argento film "Inferno." It's pretty much exactly what you might expect. Special topics for your consideration include: bakery smells, really enjoying just getting into a weird hole, refusing to move a camera, Great Depression beds, and late night hot dogs.

LISTENER WARNING: there is some real gross animal cruelty in this movie, so please don't watch it if you won't be able to un-see it.

DARIO! What a nutbar. We have been celebrating his catalog for years:  Episode 23- "Suspiria," Episode 84- "Demons," Episode 185- "Deep Red," Episode 306- "Tenebrae," Episode 325- "The Bird with the Crystal Plumage," Episode 369- "Phenomena," and Episode 445- "Opera."

In this week's episode, voted on by our PatrĂ³ns, we watched the 2023 horror-comedy "Slotherhouse." Special topics for your consideration include: two middle-aged people who just don't get the kids these days, facts(ish) about some animals, questions about Greek life, a tale of a future Hall of Famer who definitely fucks (allegedly), and an absolute delight of a Mailbag!

Do you like horror movies where an animal is the bad guy? Allow us to recommend Episode 37- "Zombeavers," Episode 41- "The Last Shark (L'ultimo Squalo)," Episode 137- "Monkey Shines," Episode 152- "Anaconda," Episode 168- "Arachnophobia," Episode 193- "Orca," Episode 214- "Congo," Episode 218- "Cujo," Episode 238- "Frogs," Episode 247- "Piranha," Episode 248- "Grizzly," Episode 289- "Crawl," Episode 447- "Cocaine Bear," and I'm certain I have missed a few in there. Animals can be such assholes sometimes.

In this week's episode, we are washing the taste of "A Castle for Christmas" from our mouths with something that honestly *might* be worse: the 2014 entry into the "Conjuring" universe, "Annabelle." Jesus. Special topics for your consideration include: hanging onto an American accent for everything you're worth, meeting a demon's cousin, some super subtle thoughts about Ed & Lorraine Warren, bits of every single other horror movie ever made, being a ghostbuster, and sacrifices or something.

James Wan, COME ON. You can hear us discuss his work our episodes on "The Conjuring" series: Episode 96 (the OG) and Episode 33 (the sequel). And for good measure, why don't you also listen to Episode 303- "Insidious" because I am half-sure they are all the same movie. In this week's episode, chosen by our top tier PatrĂ³ns, we're thinking, "didn't we just talk about this movie?" But we didn't! It's the 2021 Nic Cage film "Willy's Wonderland" and NOT a "Twilight" movie because our PatrĂ³ns, lovely as they are, are COWARDS. Special topics for your consideration include: the return of teens who cannot act their way out of a paper bag, a brand new game, the motivations of Nic Cage, new Call of Cthulhu character names, and so many video games!

You a big Nic Cage fan? OF COURSE YOU ARE. You can catch him in Episode 74- "Pay the Ghost," Episode 108- "The Wicker Man," Episode 240- "Mandy, Episode 438- "Renfield,"" and if you search for "Vacation Episode" in our library, you'll find "Face/Off," which was a Patreon episode that made it into the main feed (April 2021).

Listen, EMTs. There's a thing that happens to us towards the end of the year that makes us feel like we are on some kind of vacation though we are very aware that we're not. Regardless, we're acting like it this week with the brand new Blumhouse production "Five Nights at Freddy's" and as a result, you're getting a variety of digressions: baseball players of yesteryear, fast food restaurants of yesteryear, cell phones of yesteryear, sleepytime drinks of yesteryear, and, you know, talking about this movie.

Wanna hear some other Blumhouse episodes? Just this year we've had Episode 421- "M3gan" on our own feed and "The Exorcist: Believer" which you can hear over on the God Awful Movies feed. We've also loved a number of other Blumhouse films, such as Episode 124- "Get Out," Episode 293- "Happy Death Day," and Episode 322- "Freaky."

In this week's episode, we're headed back to one of Allen's favorite years, 1986, with the Stuart Gordon film "From Beyond." Special topics for your consideration include: a whole lot of questions and very few answers. I mean really and truly, very few.

1986, baby! We've covered so many films from this year and here are a few of my favorites-- Episode 35- "Neon Maniacs," Episode 103- "The Fly," Episode 174- "Chopping Mall," Episode 199- "Terrorvision (THE LIVE SHOW)," Episode 213: "Poltergeist II: The Other Side," and Episode 375- "Rawhead Rex."

In this week's episode, we're hitting yet another new movie-- this year's supernatural horror film "Talk to Me." Special topics for your consideration include: whatever drugs teens are on, the horror wars and who is winning them, when being the cool mom meets being a responsible adult, and Australia: why you do this to us??

Australian horror is cool and scary and sad and weird, in our experience. You might enjoy Episode 11- "The Babadook", Episode 89- "Queen of the Damned" (oddly enough, it's lightly Australian!), Episode 255- "Lake Mungo," or Episode 266- "The Loved Ones." If that's not enough for you, head south east to New Zealand for Episode 78- "Housebound" and Episode 195- "What We Do in the Shadows."

This week, dive back into the mythology of the Abaddon Hotel, Andrew Tully, and Paul's Song with the brand new movie "Hell House LLC Origins: The Carmichael Manor." Special topics for your consideration include: an indictment of true crime media, dapper Donald, making bad choices for both yourself and your loved ones, shoplifting, entities, texting ghosts, and an attempt to put together all the pieces we have of the Hell House LLC franchise.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, EMTs! In this week's episode, we finally ascend to the pinnacle of spooky season-- and what better way to celebrate than digging into the 6th film in the endless franchise, "Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers," from a time when horror was notoriously excellent: the mid-1990s. Special topics for your consideration include: Paul Stephen Rudd (America's boyfriend), Mama's Family, utterly forgettable leads, a posthumous dedication to a horror legend, an attempt to draw a "Halloween" family tree and SO MUCH baby stress.

1995 was a funny year. You can hear us talk about it in Episode Episode 214- "Congo," Episode 257- "Se7en," and Episode 272-  "Village of the Damned."

In this week's episode, we're celebrating PEAK spooky season with the most requested film over the last nine years: the 1983 slasher "Sleepaway Camp." Special topics for your consideration include: sidepipes, thighlights, and an utter lack of the titty bell, a fight over the pronunciation of the word "aunt," James Earl Jones' dad, good shirts, great insults, fantastic cursing, and more adult teens than you can shake a stick at!

Summer camps are fun, right? We dunno, we never went to them except for Episode 141- "Friday the 13th," Episode 182- "Final Girls," and Episode 344- "Fear Street Part Two: 1978."

Special topics for your consideration include: the return of old teens, Hotsquatch, talkin' sex with your mom, questions of Jason's aging, your neighbor and mine but mostly mine Tom Savini, and a special wish for a listener.

In this week's episode, Party Month continues with the 2014 sequel in the Norwegian franchise, "Dead Snow 2: Red vs. Dead." Special topics for your consideration include: SO MANY hot dogs on the outside, good gore, useless cops in a new locale, being an asshole but also a stupid asshole, a solid appreciation for Martin Starr, and a bit of soccer hooliganism. Also I very much lost my voice by the end of this recording and I apologize for that.

It's been ages since we covered the original "Dead Snow"-- all the way back in Episode 92! If you're interested in other Scandinavian horror, you may enjoy Episode 163- "Let the Right One In"(Sweden), Episode 260- "Rare Exports" (Finland), and Episode 275- "Lake Bodom" (Finland).

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Welcome to spooky season, babies, and this year we are doing a full month of party movies-- the kind of movie you can watch with a crowd and yell at the scream. Party movie month kicks off with a strong entrant, the 2023 film "Cocaine Bear." Special topics for your consideration include: rethinking athletic training supplements, those weird 2 foot pixie stix, a smattering of potty talk, Avery Jessup, fingerblocking, and an enormous amount of joy courtesy of a listener.

In the absence of other horror movies about drugs (I can't think of any that we've done!) please enjoy the work of O'Shea Jackson Sr., aka Ice Cube in Episode 152- "Anaconda."

In this week's episode, we're determined to make jokes out of a very sad movie about a Vietnam veteran because somehow that is a job that a person can have! Special topics for your consideration include: a very "X-Files" era, the repeated deaths of Macauley Culkin, hunky television actors, being the guy hanging out with the girls who catcall the postman, angels/demons/whatever, and advice that *might* actually be right for a change!

War is horrific and has thus inspired some really great and some  really terrible horror movies. You may or may not enjoy Episode 93- "Ravenous," Episode 187- "Dog Soldiers," and Episode 223- "Curse of the Cannibal Confederates."

In this week's episode, we're spending all our mental efforts trying to suss out the meaning of yet another Dario Argento film with 1987's "Opera." Do we figure it out? OF COURSE NOT. Special topics for your consideration include: more dream logic, letting birds solve a crime, getting fed up with being murdered, finding new ways into the dating scene, and DANIELE SOAVE!

We love Dario Argento, I think? Perhaps for different reasons though. You can hear us discuss his work in Episode 23- "Suspiria," Episode 84- "Demons," Episode 185- "Deep Red," Episode 306- "Tenebrae," Episode 325- "The Bird with the Crystal Plumage," and Episode 369- "Phenomena."

Look, I know that I have said it so often on this show that it has lost all meaning (did it ever have meaning?) but this week, it's a spi-cy meeeat-a-baaaaall! Holy ghost, literally. We are tackling the 2023 Russell-Crowe-as-an-Italian film "The Pope's Exorcist." Special topics for your consideration include: Crappy teens, possessed kids who just aren't Regan (can they even tap dance?!), Italian doctors living and working in Spain, the absolution of all the Catholic Church's sins, an extremely sexy pope, and a reminder that in most international settings, Americans are the worst.

Exorcisms are a mainstay in horror, and horror is a mainstay in us. Check out Episode 90- "Amityville II: The Possession," Episode 155- "The Exorcist," Episode 216- "The Devil Inside Her" in which there is an exorcism of an extremely strong baby, my god what a fantastic film, and Episode 367- "The Last Exorcism."

In this week's episode, we're pretending that we know our way around the internet with the 2018 creepypasta-inspired film "Slender Man." It's a doozy. Special topics for your consideration include: a reconsidering of Jamiroquai, allowing middle-aged men to write teenage girl characters despite not now nor ever having been one, worrying about Abercrombie Tom's plotline, and the real question...does Slenderman have a weiner? DOES HE?

It turns out that several feature films have been made based on creepypasta but this is our first. We did reference both "Bye Bye Man" and "Empty Man" in this episode, so go listen to those if you'd like-- Episodes 324 and 357 respectively.

In this week's episode, we're discussing the intersection of media commentary and tummy vaginas with the 1983 David Cronenberg cult classic "Videodrome." Special topics for your consideration include: DEBBIE HARRY!, making it a pee-pee (whatever it may be), sexy ear piercing, physics-defying Betamax, the prophecies of Mr. Cronenberg and the strangest of trade shows.

We've covered a few of Cronenberg's films in the past: Episode 88- "Shivers," Episode 103- "The Fly," and Episode 177- "The Brood." We've also gushed over Debbie Harry once before: Episode 132- "Tales from the Darkside."

In this week's episode, we're talking about the very creepy and very emotional 2022 slasher "Pearl." Special topics for your consideration include: the ease of making major life decisions, some more terrible life advice from your pals here at Werewolf Ambulance, baby Brendan Fraser, misunderstood biology, and a veritable smorgasbord of things we like: familial drama! scarecrows! dry humping! dance numbers! maggot pigs! Truly everything we could want.

This is it, we have decided that we are all in on Ti West. You can catch his other work with the film that spawned this prequel, "X" (Episode 396), along with Episode 172- "House of the Devil" and one segment in Episode 436- "V/H/S." In this week's episode, we're back to the well of one of our favorite madmen, Charles Band, with the 1993 film "Puppet Master 4." It's exactly what you expect in all the right ways. Special topics for your consideration include: a ska news minute, high highs and low lows of puppets and animation, sexy (?) outfits of the 1990s, DECAPITRON, and the utter befuddlement that is trying to make sense of a Puppet Master film. Plus: a delight of a voicemail.

Have we done "Puppet Master" and "Puppet Master 2," you ask? Of course we have: Episodes 164 and 165. Have we done "Puppet Master 3," you ask? No, of course we fucking haven't, then we may have understood the plot of this movie. Maybe.

Hey folks, just a few audio issues in this one (we record two episodes at once-- did you know this? It's a very well-kept secret) but all future episodes should be good to go. 437 episodes in, a mic cable gets worn out, ya see?

In this week's episode, we're discussing the 2022 religious horror film "The Offering" in which we try to be as respectful as we can about other folks' cultures while being devoutly anti-religion ourselves and also, pretty curious as to how much Yiddish one can adopt into their day-to-day. Other topics for your consideration include: unacceptable ways to sleep, that guy I like from British crime dramas, what all GenX-ers and Millenials really want, what happens when a film veers towards the Wan-iverse but rights the ship with a goddamn goatman, and perhaps the perfect end to an episode.

Interested in Jewish horror? You might enjoy Episode 327- "The Vigil." Interested in that guy I like from British crime dramas? He was in "Anna and the Apocalypse," Episode 409 and I know, I know, his name is Paul Kaye but he'll always be that guy for me.

Just a quick note, we apologize for some minor sound issues in this episode. We've got a faulty mic cable and didnt realize it until we began editing.

In this week's episode, we're discussing an anthology for the first time in awhile! It's the oft-requested 2012 film "V/H/S." Special topics for your consideration include: a whole slew of brand new advertisers who are absolutely not giving us their money to discuss their product, one of us sharing way too much personal grooming information (see the previous item in this list), a bunch of directors that we really like, calling your partner by a pet name in a disgruntled way, and the pleasure of watching shitty dudes get their comeuppance.

We goddamn love an anthology: Episode 21- "Creepshow," Episode 61- "Trick r Treat," Episode 102- "Holidays," Episode 132- "Tales from the Darkside," Episode 178- "Twilight Zone: The Movie," Episode 249- "Creepshow 2," Episode 302- "Verotika," and Episode 368- "Tales from the Hood."

Special topics for your consideration include: a veritable sea of Australians, hailing from a soldering family, reactions to priests, mom sadness, "Dream Child," and so much barfing. SO much barfing!

We've covered two other films in the series: the original in Episode 280 and "Army of Darkness" in Episode 229. They are predictably out of order and we still haven't done the second one.

Special topics for your consideration include: when your phone's autofill function tries to predict "your thing," an unexpected sessy moment, having your directorial debut and your swan song be the same film (sorry Robert Englund), and a whole ass host of 1980s teen horror tropes: old teens, hot principals, religious moms, kids with insane names, movie punks (or at least punk-adjacent), evil quips, panty thefts & so much more! Or less. It might actually be less.

1988 was a hell of a year for horror movies, and we've seen a lot of them (say what you will about us, but we are certainly thorough).
Tease your hair, put on your Guns n Roses tee and settle in for Episode 32- "Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood," Episode 36- "Waxwork," Episode 50- "The Blob," Episode 137- "Monkey Shines," Episode 140- "Killer Klowns from Outer Space," Episode 192- "Night of the Demons," Episode 205- "Hellraiser II," Episode 225- "Beetlejuice," Episode 231- "Child's Play," Episode 265- "Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama," Episode 283- "Elvira: Mistress of the Dark," Episode 314- "Phantasm 2," Episode 343- "Black Roses," Episode 383- "Hack-O-Lantern," Episode 401- "Halloween 4, and finally" Episode 404- "They Live." Holy ghost.

In this week's episode, we're enjoying the company of one of our patron saints, Natasha Lyonne, with the 2010 comedy/slasher "All About Evil." Special topics for your consideration include: breaking news to us that you have all been aware of for like... 2 weeks, perfect homages, more questionable parenting and--good lord--the posters in this child's room, bejeweled flip phones, the true power move of smoking wherever the fuck you want, and a special message from our AI overlords.

Our girl Natasha Lyonne also appeared in Episode 134- "#Horror" which is a movie that I remember almost nothing about. You can catch Cassandra Peterson in Episode 238- "Elvira: Mistress of the Dark," and while Jack Donner has appeared in a few of the "Puppet Master" films, he hasn't been in any of the ones we've covered (Episodes 164 and 165, which are 1 and 2, respectively. Frankly I just love to bring up Puppet Master any time I get the chance.

In this week's champagne-soaked episode, we're revisiting one of our favorite franchises with the 1991 film "Child's Play 3." Special topics for your consideration include: deep metaphors, what happens when you make a movie in like a month, a shocking lack of knowledge about the US military, weird hands, and a real cause for celebration (next week's episode contains the second cause for celebration reported on June 8, 2023 when we recorded this).

CHUCKY! Naturally we covered the sequel first (Episode 28) and the original film second (Episode 231) with the remake coming in appropriately third, in Episode 287. We also covered "Bride of Chucky" in Episode 356. What a lovable scamp!

In this week's episode, we're joined by our extremely funny and knowledgeable friend Kurt from Enjoy Wrestling to discuss his pick, the 2014 Kane film "See No Evil 2." You can find everything you need to know about Enjoy at https://linktr.ee/Enjoywrestling and we promise you, you won't regret checking it out.

Wrestling is funny! We've covered one other official WWE Studios film in Episode 16- "Oculus," but we also reveled in the delights of their 1989 OG production in "No Holds Barred," which was a Patreon episode that we released on the main feed between Episodes 371 and 372. We'd also be remiss in not pointing out the following spectacular performances from professional wrestlers: Episode 80- "Predator" (Jesse Ventura), Episode 301- "Halloween" (Skywalker Nitron aka Tyler Mane in the Rob Zombie reimagining), Episode 311- "Girl on the Third Floor" (CM Punk), Episode 404- "They Live" (Rowdy Roddy Piper), and Episode 405- "12 Hour Shift" (Mick Foley).

In this week's episode, we're back to the terror of filling one's home with cameras in the 2010 found footage film "Paranormal Activity 2." Special topics for your consideration include: so much talk about Burger King that you might run right out and get yourself a flame-boiler Whopperâ„¢, words that you can't say on this podcast, problematic furniture, and a true roundup of horror favorites: dumb teens, bad advice, annoying demons, not listening to the one person who is trying to help, and more!

We've covered two other Paranormal Activity films: Episodes 83 and 296- "Paranormal Activity" and "Paranormal Activity 3" respectively.

In this week's episode, we're trying to make lemonade out of a lot of lemons... and then maybe just dumping a whole bunch of gin into the pitcher to take the edge off a real piece of work: the 1968 Vincent Price film "Witchfinder General." Hoooo boy. Special topics for your consideration include: a movie that isn't the one you remembered and certainly not the one you wanted, the grossest you'll ever see Vincent Price behave, hair concerns, horse concerns, and a whole bunch of bonus content.

Is it possible that we've only covered one other Vincent Price movie? It's Episode 91- "The Last Man on Earth."

It's a landline! It's a knife! It's the newest entry into the "Scream" franchise! This week, we're discussing 2023's "Scream 6" or "SCREAVI" or whatever it is that they're stylizing. Special topics for your consideration include: having very shallow memories when it comes to the last two installments of this series, stanning our short kings and queens...of law enforcement? and also a quick PSA on where it is and is not acceptable to tag "ACAB," Dermot Mulroney!, and our slow descent into madness.

We have covered all the "Scream" movies! That's either an accomplishment or a reason to seek therapy. They are: the original in Episode 44, "Scre4m" in Episode 228, "Scr3am" in Episode 278, "Scream 5[?]" in Episode 374, and "Scream 2" in Episode 391. Just looking at the order in which we covered these movies makes me very happy.

In this week's episode, we're tackling a movie that (spoiler alert!) we both love a lot: it's the 2000 Japanese film "Battle Royale." Special topics for your consideration include: butt slashing, trusting adults, the fact that this movie might be a comedy?, fantastic death scenes, and the sad fact of knowing everything we know about other cultures from terrible 80s movies.

Into Japanese horror? We've covered shockingly little of it! We've done "Hausu" in Episode 115 and the remake of "The Ring" (no longer Japanese, I know) way back in Episode 98. Do you have a favorite Japanese film you'd like us to discuss? Let us know!

In this week's episode, we're digging into some post-"Texas Chainsaw Massacre," pre-"Poltergeist" Tobe Hooper in the 1981 slasher "The Funhouse." Special topics of conversation include: some minor societal red flags like teens dating people in their 30s and allowing a stranger to wash your child (?!), utterly amazing 1980s slang that perhaps didn't catch on, the Delaware state fair, terrible last words, and a very fun AMA with some listeners!

We've never discussed "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" because it's a perfect movie and there's not much to be funny about, but we HAVE discussed its raucous sequel "Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2" in Episode 56, along with "Poltergeist" in Episode 212.

Hello EMTs! I'm on vacation this week so instead of writing up a bunch of jokes about the movie, I am just going to say that in addition to your Pittsburgh baseball Pirates currently sitting in first place, Dave Bautista wearing people clothes is my absolute favorite thing to happen in 2023. Come along with us on this journey of the newest film from our boy and yours but mostly yours, M. Night Shyamalan.

We have spent a lot of time with ol' M. Night. You can catch his films in Episode 12- "The Happening," Episode 157- "The Sixth Sense," Episode 169- "The Village," and Episode 363- "Old."

In this week's episode, we're unable to find a decently reliable streaming version of listener-requested film "The Others," so we took the next best Nicole Kidman option: the 2013 psychological thriller "Stoker." It's a movie about vampires... OR IS IT?! Special topics for your consideration include: weird familial relationships,  Allen's concern about finding one's "thing," chasing that disgust dragon, lifeless mannequin eyes, and the fleshing out of our new podcast idea, "Murder Nut."

If you want more Nicole Kidman, please please go back and listen to Episode 76, cleverly titled "???? (1990)" because it is "Days of Thunder" and hoo boy what a perfect film. Right? Of course you agree.

In this week's episode, we're questioning why Ethan Hawke loves being in movies about dead children so much with the 2012 supernatural thriller "Sinister." Special topics for your consideration include: making a whole ass movie about wandering your house in the dark while wearing lounge pants, being a whiner about coffee, being a shit husband and a shittier dad, actors you know from every other conceivable things, and the problem with true crime.

Do you enjoy seeing Ethan Hawke act against dead children? You may enjoy Episode 394- "The Black Phone." Do you enjoy Vincent D'Onofrio doing whatever he wants? Then we'd suggest Episode 133- "The Cell." True crime fan? Apparently we covered "The Town that Dreaded Sundown" in Episode 49, but it's the remake and not even the original. Still, true story!

Special topics for your consideration include: adult teens, a lesson in Haitian history, Meg Foster in the role of a lifetime, inappropriate jauntiness, nepotism babies, and condominiums,

Charles Band is a nutbar and I love him (almost all the time). Here are some movies he's had his hands in: Episode 156- "Gingerdead Man," Episode 164- "Puppet Master," Episode 165- "Puppet Master 2," Episode 171- "Ghoulies," Episode 186- "Tourist Trap," Episode 199- "Terrorvision (the live show!)" and Episode 354- "Dolls," a movie I completely forgot existed until I started this write-up and now I am delighted all over again.

Dudes, it's 420! We're celebrating by hanging with our friend Perry and discussing his pick, the 2018 sci-fi horror film "Annihilation." In the grand tradition of Werewolf Ambulance, though, it was not quite the movie he remembered. This is what they get for not letting me watch "Bong of the Dead," seriously! Special topics for your consideration include: wondering whether this movie is a metaphor for drugs or just sadness, exhaustion as a character choice, dealing with the consequences of not knowing a thing, and of course, weed.

420 baby! Thanks for sticking with us though so many ridiculous episodes-- we are truly grateful for all of yinz. We're going to be off next week for a lil break, but you can catch us TOMORROW as special guests on the God Awful Movies podcast (Episode 395- "The Exorcist 2: The Heretic.")

Special topics for your consideration include: two very different schools of thought when it comes to handling one's emotions, chasing that old scare dragon, the hardness of farm folk (particularly compared to how baby-soft we are), and a delightfully Pittsburgh voicemail.

If you liked this movie, you'll probably love Episode 255- "Lake Mungo." We've also dealt with themes of grief in Episode 11- "The Babadook," Episode 47- "Don't Look Now," Episode 116- "The Descent," Episode 159- "Pet Sematary," Episode 224- "Hereditary," and Episode 270- "Midsommar."

In this week's episode, we're discussing the brand new 2023 independent film "Skinamarink." Special topics for your consideration include: um, you know, saying some stuff...about stuff? Talking about corners, walls, ceilings, and the feet of children, trying to get a foothold in someone else's nightmare, and a very weird personalized license plate.

We've done a couple avant garde/arthouse style horror movies in the past. May we suggest Episode 115- "Hausu," Episode 194- "Santa Sangre," or Episode 240- "Mandy"? Also, does everything Lucio Fulci ever made count? If so, boy have we done a lot of those.

In this week's episode, we're discussing the 1987 supernatural (?) educational (??) erotic (???) film "A Chinese Ghost Story." Normally I'd write some jokes here and compare it to other movies we've covered, but frankly the Super Bowl made me get too tore up to do all that. Totally not my fault obviously. You'll like this movie though, it's pretty goddamn fantastic.

Special topics for your consideration include: a gift from a listener sparks food joy for us, being open to John Leguizamo, gatekeeping of hobbies, the good old days of smoking in restaurants, red flags in a potential partner, and chocolate hats, THE CHOCOLATE HATS!

We've covered two Anya Taylor-Joy movies in the past (Episode 73- "The Witch" and Episode 319- "New Mutants" which is also a crossover with the 'Marveling at Marvel's Marvels podcast) and one Nicholas Hoult (Episode 267- "Warm Bodies.) Sorry no Ralph Fiennes.

Are you a fan of found footage movies? In this week's episode, we're discussing Stephen King's directorial debut (and hasty exit from directing), the 1986 diesel-themed disaster "Maximum Overdrive." Special topics for your consideration include: a quick visit to our errors & omissions corner, a retrospective on the career of Emilio Estevez, more inexplicable sex stuff from Steven Kang himself, the great unifier that is AC/DC and trucks. Just...just trucks.

Stephen King villains are funny. Please enjoy a group of religious children in Episode 59- "Children of the Corn," a car in Episode 126- "Christine," a teenage girl in Episode 206- "Carrie," a dog in Episode 218- "Cujo," and some grass? or a rune or something, I genuinely cannot remember, in Episode 291- "In the Tall Grass."

In this week's episode, we're concluding our siblings-running-a-farm rock block with the 1980 utterly bananas film "Motel Hell." Truly, the mind boggles. Special topics for your consideration include: a fantastic tagline for a movie or a brand of smoked meats or really whatever you're promoting, the siren call of Rory Calhoun, terrible police work, absolutely baffling motivations, and the age old question of what did characters know and when did they know it?

I'm putting this up there with a handful of my other favorite bizarre horror movies of the 1980s- Episode 35- "Neon Maniacs," Episode 140- "Killer Klowns from Outer Space," Episode 174- "Chopping Mall," and Episode 265- "Sorority Babes in the Slimeball Bowl-o-Rama."

In this week's episode, we've got the much-anticipated annual romcom episode with the Lindsay Lohan/Chord Overstreet holiday vehicle "Falling for Christmas." Fantastic. Special topics for your consideration include: rich ski people, the utter delight that is Lindsay Lohan, the utterly unbelievable name that is CHord Overstreet, the concept of a 'flapjack daddy,' a few *small teeny tiny* plot holes in this otherwise-perfectly conceived and masterfully written film, and another much-anticipated event: another voicemail from Claudia.

Wanna hear our other romcom episodes? They are Episode 209- "Love Actually," Episode 261- "You've Got Mail," and Episode 361- "Miss Congeniality," but we also once went absolutely insane while in lockdown and spent the better part of three hours over two episodes discussing "Titanic." Those were Bonus Episodes #3 & 4 in April and May of 2020. What a time to have been alive.

We'll catch you all with renewed vigor next week for our fourth annual* New Year's romcom, "Falling for Christmas."

*it should have been our fifth, but one year we must really have had the holiday blues because we dropped the idea altogether and did "The Fate of the Furious." Geniuses.

In this week's episode, we're giving our Discord channel (seriously, join us over there! https://discord.com/invite/DutFjx3cBD) what they wanted, and they wanted the 2017 Scottish zombie musical "Anna and the Apocalypse." Special topics for your consideration include: a lot of British television talk, Santa Claus: hot or not?, taking the time to talk about your feelings during an actual apocalypse, offensive things that we said about Blink 182 and also Jesus but we left them in the episode just for you, and what life would be like if the people around you just sometimes broke out into song? Yikes.

Into horror movies with some musical numbers? We've done two others: Episode 13- "The Phantom of the Paradise and Episode 389- "Repo! The Genetic Opera." And, not a musical, but please watch "The Alien Factor" (Episode 183) if only for the finest musical performance we've ever seen in a horror movie with the Baltimore-based band Atlantis playing a real banger, "Maybe Someday."

As 2022 winds to a close, we find ourselves returning to its well yet again with this week's movie, "Deadstream." Special topics for your consideration include: our limited knowledge of physics, the state of Utah, Mormonism, and actually lots of other things, feelings about poetry, brand new exclamations, Sam Elliott's sidepipe, and the fear that arises from seeing yourself in absolutely awful characters.

Let's do a 2022 rundown (even though we still have a Lohan Christmas movie from this year to get to!) We've kicked off with Episode 370- "Texas Chainsaw Massacre," then Episode 374- "Scream [5?]," Episode 381- "Firestarter," Episode 394- "The Black Phone," Episode 396- "X," Episode 399- "Orphan: First Kill," Episode 402- "Hellraiser," Episode 403- "Barbarian," and Episode 407- "Smile." To hear us talk about some of the other films we mention in this episode, you can check out Episode 26- "It Follows," Episode 98- "The Ring," Episode 224- "Hereditary," and just for fun, Episodes 99 and 382, "Final Destination" and "Final Destination 3" respectively (because of course we have not yet covered the second one, why would we do that?)

Other topics for your consideration include: rich people parties, actors we like from other things, Napoleon, fighting a crow, and bad corporate practices.

Did you like "The Omen"? So did we! It's Episode 77. Do you like Sylvia Sidney? She's Juno, the caseworker in Episode 225- "Beetlejuice." Big Lance Henriksen fan? PUMPKINHEAD, baby! It's Episode 57.

Pro wrestling is cool. Check out Episode 80- "Predator" (Jesse Ventura), Episode 301- "Halloween" (Skywalker Nitron aka Tyler Mane in the Rob Zombie reimagining), Episode 311- "Girl on the Third Floor" (CM Punk), and Episode 404- "They Live" (Rowdy Roddy Piper).

In this week's episode, it's a listener pick! We're covering the 1988 'peak John Carpenter' film "They Live." Special topics for your consideration include: how far two fantastic leads can carry a film, the natural conclusion of the Reagan era, rull toothy faces, big ideas that leave some...unanswered questions, and our attempt to determine which actor has appeared in the most WWA movies without actually looking it up or doing any research or anything useful like that.

Interested in other 'peak JC'? Allen would have you believe that also includes Episode 79- "Prince of Darkness." You can also hear us discuss JC's other non-"Halloween" films in Episode 112- "Christine," Episode 129- "The Fog," Episode 142- "In the Mouth of Madness," and Episode 272- "Village of the Damned." In this week's episode, we're discussing the movie that everyone is talking about-- or at least, everyone was talking about a few weeks ago? Frankly that is a pretty quick turnaround for old folks like us. Regardless, it's the 2022 film "Barbarian." WE ARE SPOILING THIS MOVIE, ONLY LISTEN TO THE EPISODE IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SEEN IT OR NEVER CARE TO SEE IT! Special topics for your consideration include: the delicate balance of creepy/hot, a not-very-flattering image of a region, weird house dreams, the vibe of Justin Long, the evergreen horror trope of useless cops, and the level to which we have desensitized ourselves to disturbing imagery. Whoops.

You can get more Justin Long (if that was a thing you ever wanted) in Episode 181- "Tusk." You can get more Bill SkarsgĂ¥rd in the "It" series, Episodes 351 & 352. We've not seen Georgina Campbell in anything else, but here's to hoping we do!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, EMTS!! We're so happy to be able to celebrate the most wonderful time of the year with you all again. And by popular demand, this week we're discussing the 2022 reimagining of "Hellraiser." Special topics for your consideration include: a sad lack of sex with jeans on (RIP Uncle Frank), a twist that everyone saw coming, a need for more griminess, concern for safety in a thunderstorm, and obvs lots and lots of genital talk.

We've devoted many hours of our lives to the "Hellraiser" franchise-- you can hear us discuss the original (Episode 51), "Hellraiser II: Hellbound" (Episode 205), and "Hellraiser: Bloodline" (Episode 262).

Special topics for your consideration include: diminishing returns on the Michael Myers well, being perhaps overly honest with a child, wishing death upon your annoying colleague and having no one bat an eye, a thesis on the acting of Donald Pleasance, and prerequisites for the position of sheriff here in Haddonfield.

We've covered a wide breadth of "Halloween" movies, most of them kinda bad:  "Halloween III: Season of the Witch" (Episode 52), "Halloween H20" (Episode 201), "Halloween: Resurrection" (Episode 202), "Halloween" (the Rob Zombie reimagining, Episode 304), and "Halloween Kills" (Episode 353).

EMTs, this is Episode 400. FOUR. HUNDRED. What kind of fun, special things can you expect in this episode as part of the celebration? Easy- NONE. We forgot. We completely forgot this milestone until we were done recording. Serious professionals here. Anyway, we hope you stick around for another 400 because we love you very much. Special topics for your consideration include: a film replete with things we would never ever do or even consider doing, a brief tour of Noah's Ark, characters who need not be named, and the sudden realization that some beers have higher alcohol content than others.

Like horror movies about haunted houses? You'll LOVE the "Hell House LLC" trilogy, Episodes 254, 256, and 258). And because we also love those movies, we'll be doing a "Hell House LLC" watchalong on Discord on Friday, October 21 at 9pm EST. In this week's episode here in the heart of spooky season, we're discussing the brand new prequel to a film we reviewed just a few weeks ago: it's the 2022 film "Orphan: First Kill" and hoo boy, were we flummoxed! Special topics for your consideration include: a surprising celebrity sibling, being super ready to hate a movie knowing absolutely nothing about it, an in-depth analysis of fencing by two people who, again, know absolutely nothing about it, and a phone call from a kind listener who sheds more light on the real orphan story that has unfolded over the last few weeks, so please stick around to hear that.

Did you miss our conversation about "Orphan" recently? It was Episode 395. I know Julia Stiles has been in a handful of horror movies but we haven't done any others. She did star in a remake of "The Omen" and we covered the original, so maybe go listen to that? It's Episode 77 and I know it's a stretch, sorry.

Would you like to tell us about things we're wrong about? We deserve it. You can call 412-407-7025 and lay it on us.

It's the most wonderful time of the year! In this week's episode, we're kicking off SPOOKY SEASON with something we haven't seen in awhile-- a good old-fashioned creepy ghost story with the 1980 film "The Changeling." Special topics for your consideration include: accepting our own mortality (or at least looking better than George C. Scott, bless his heart), making piano-man money, the kinds of things that only happen to you when your friends are rich, CLAIRE NORMAN!!, and some real deep rhythmic pounding. Oh yeah.

We have not covered nearly as many ghost stories as we should have, and many of the ones we have discussed are bad! Here are some of the worst: Episode 14- "Ghost Ship," Episode 69- "Thirteen Ghosts," Episode 203- "Grave Encounters," Episode 213- "Poltergeist II: The Other Side," and Episode 311- "Girl on the Third Floor."

In this week's episode, we're (foolishly) returning to a film franchise in which we (wisely) covered one film and then turned and ran: it's the 2005 sequel "Saw II." Guh. Special topics for your consideration include: elaborately-timed plans of absolute stupidity, utterly confusing motivations, wearing your dad's suit to work, two very divergent meanings of the phrase "Jesus show girl," and the possibility that these films are not just torture porn but in fact torture for the viewer.

No Cary Elwes in this one, but you can catch him in "Saw," Episode 81. And, screw it, he's also in Episode 76- "????" which is actually just "Days of Thunder," a fantastic film. I wish Cary Elwes had been in this piece of shit.

In this week's episode, we're talking about the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"/pornography crossover of the century: the 2022 film "X." Special topics for your consideration include: an abundance of bodily fluids, old age makeup and its effect on a film's creepiness quotient, being a secret Ti West stan, a real accent bonanza, and a very specific request for one very specific dick pic (please please do not send us your dick).

We reviewed Ti West's film "House of the Devil" in Episode 172, and he performed in the film "You're Next," Episode 40. Mia Goth was in the new "Suspiria" in Episode 232, and Jenna Ortega has graced our screens in both "The Babysitter: Killer Queen" (Episode 358) and "Scream 5" (Episode 374). She was also apparently in "Insidious 2," a film I genuinely cannot believe we haven't covered but maybe some other sweet day.

In this week's episode, we're continuing our not-so-great parents rock block (I assure you, this was an accident and will not continue) with the 2009 film "The Orphan." Special topics for your consideration include: sad lady tropes, confusing adoption procedures (and attitudes, sheesh!), having your plot hinge on a child overhearing literally every conversation, generalized bad parenting, and a twist that would make our boy M. Night cringe.

Enjoy watching children behave badly? You may like Episode 59- "Children of the Corn," Episode 77- "The Omen," Episode 177- "The Brood," Episode 216- "The Devil Within Her," Episode 272- "Village of the Damned" and for everyone's sake, Episodes 376 & 378- "It's Alive!" and "It's Alive 3: Island of the Alive" respectively.

In this week's episode, we're discussing the brand new Ethan Hawke horror movie "The Black Phone." Special topics for your consideration include: an accidental early reveal of next week's topic, the iconic nature of the "Dazed & Confused" soundtrack and why you may want to consider other songs from the 1970s for your movie, a Call of Cthulhu idea roll, extreme hatred of a certain M. Night Shyamalan work, and our usual outdoor visitors.

In this week's episode, we're wrapping up college month with the 1990 semi-collegiate, semi-horror film "Flatliners." Yowza. Special topics for your consideration include: a trip around the Baldwin family tree, the not-so-ethnic Kevin Bacon, Julia Roberts' hair (of course), a look into Pirates' baseball history, and possibly the greatest version of "in a world of <X>, be a <Y>" that we've ever come up with.

Want more Kiefer Sutherland? You'll need Episode 136- "The Lost Boys." Want to see his dad's butt? That'd be Episode 47- "Don't Look Now" and I'm sorry but I can't pass up a chance to recommend looking at Donald Sutherland's butt. Looking more for some Kevin Bacon? Check out Episode 184- "Tremors" and perhaps more importantly, in one of the finest death scenes of all time, Episode 141- "Friday the 13th." Fantastic work by your neighbor and mine but mostly mine, Tom Savini.

It's the second half of College Month-- call it Spring Break, bay-bee! This week we're discussing the sequel to a film that we both really loved with the 2019 movie "Happy Death Day 2U." Special topics for your consideration include: college dudes called Kyle, a lot of confusion about loops, things that ruin emotional moments for some viewers, logical decision-making, serial killers (?), science (??), and multiverses (???!)

We discussed the original "Happy Death Day" in Episode 293-- hey look, a franchise we managed to cover in order! Even if there will only ever be two films, we're still gonna pat ourselves on the back about it!

In this week's episode, our second of College Month, we're discussing the final entry into the "Scream" franchise that we've yet to review: "Scream 2." Special topics for your consideration include: an absolute cavalcade of 1997 stars, inexplicable movie theatre behavior, 1997 hair, phone hacks, a serious of extremely 90s conceits and just some nice times hanging with old movie friends.

Scream, baby! We've got the original in Episode 44, "Scre4m" in Episode 228, "Scr3am" in Episode 278, and "Scream 5[?]" in Episode 374. Genuinely I'm sort of sad to bring this franchise to a close (lol jk they're definitely doing another one, right?)

Hey EMTs, it's about time we did a theme month! This August, it's back-to-school time with a series of four horror movies set at colleges. We're kicking it off this week with the 1982 slasher "The House on Sorority Row." Special topics for your consideration include: a lot of NSFW slang terms, being the dumb one in your group of friends, chicken bone disposal, underwear technology, impractical fashion, the worst blind date and MR. COOL SHOES.

If you liked this movie, you'll love the original "Black Christmas" in Episode 113 and to a lesser degree, the remake of "Black Christmas" in Episode 312.

You guys. YOU GUYS. How do you sleep at night, knowing that you've suggested films that bring us such pain? This week it's the 2008 dystopian goth musical "Repo! The Genetic Opera." Special topics for your consideration include: a mutual disdain for talk-singing, genetics: how do they work?, kernels of ideas that have gone to seed, whatever debt Paul Sorvino (RIP) had that got him to be in this film, a reconsideration of Paris Hilton, and some real honest-to-goodness angst from us.

I guess we just love Paris Hilton, I dunno. Catch her in Episode 118- "House of Wax" and Episode 321- "Nine Lives." I genuinely hope she does another horror movie soon.

Hi EMTs,

I (Katie) and my family all have covid, so no new episode this week. Instead, we're re-releasing one of our favorites from the archives: the 1997 horror/action film "Anaconda." If I recall correctly, this episode was recorded during my height of new-baby madness so that's always a great time. Special topics for your consideration include: sweet sweet Bob and his grown ass adult voice, utterly phenomenal accents, absurd red herrings, squirrelly men, blood balloons, baffling plot holes, necessary larvae, and of course, CLOSE ENOUGH LUCIO.

So many of you have suggested that "Dark Night of the Scarecrow" might be the scarecrow movie that Katie enjoyed years ago while immediately forgetting the title. Well, is it? You'll have to listen to find out! Special topics for your consideration include: an utter lack of knowledge about farm equipment, only having one outfit and wearing it for everything, absolutely amazingly-named characters, some fun with math, the insignificance of the passage of time when you're plotting out a movie, and some thoughts on folks who purchase a particular type of tshirt.

This is the third scarecrow-themed film we've covered in hopes of finding the one: the others are Episode 237- "Scarecrow" (this is a SyFy channel original film and hoo boy that was a mistake) and Episode 334- "Husk."

In this week's episode, we found ourselves having one of the most deeply divided reactions to a film in a very long time. The film in question is the second entry of a franchise in which, shockingly, we have also covered the first and NONE of the subsequent movies out of order: it's 2014's "The Purge: Anarchy." Special topics for your consideration include: the concept of a libertarian fantasy world, the lack of more stupid crimes, terrible code names, QB!, income taxes, trying to make a dumb idea sound smart, and the official treat of summer!

We covered the first "Purge" film back in Episode 109. If you're into home invasion films, maybe you'd also like  Episode 40- "You're Next," Episode 86- "Hush," Episode 243- "The Strangers," or Episode 315- "Knock Knock."

In this week's episode, it's an EMT pick! Thank you so much to listener Derek who won the contest in our "Firestarter" episode and chose a real doozy of a film-- the 1988 Satanic cult movie "Hack-O-Lantern." Believe me when I say that this movie has it all: heavy metal, boobs, Satanism, a bathroom with carpet in it which is inherently also very evil, horny adult teens, weird stuff at the rec center, boobs, terrible fake guitar playing in the world's saddest jerkoff fantasy, Levi's cords, creepy grandpas, Coors Light, inept police work, barn-based occult rituals, did we mention boobs? There are a ton of them.

Halloween is THE BEST. You may enjoy Episode 52- Halloween III: Season of the Witch," Episode 68- "Trick r Treat," Episode 105- "Murder Party," Episode 192- "Night of the Demons," Episode 197- "Terrifier," Episode 200- "Trick or Treat," Episode 366- "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" and really so many more. In this week's episode, we couldn't bring ourselves to watch the old "Firestarter" after the new one was so butt, so we decided to watch...well, something else that's a little bit butt. And a little bit not butt! It's the third entry into the "Final Destination" franchise and if you're wondering if we've covered the second one, the answer is no, of course not. Special topics for your consideration include: the return of elderly teenagers, tanning technology that is absolutely baffling, various facts about various presidents, conspiracy theories, and the fact that death has gotta learn to work smarter, not harder. C'mon fuckin guy.

Want more of the "Final Destination" franchise? We covered the original in Episode 99. More Mary Elizabeth Winstead? Catch her in Episode 303- "Deathproof." Also this movie felt very much like it should have starred Seth Green and it decidedly did not, so go revisit his horror oeuvre in Episode 61- "Krampus," Episode 97- "IT" (the miniseries), and Episode 316- "Idle Hands" and then treat yourself to his finest role in Episode 269- "Can't Hardly Wait."

In this week's episode, we're tackling an in-theaters-now/on-Peacock-now film, the 2022 remake "Firestarter." Yeahhh. Special topics for your consideration include: getting to the bottom of whose fault this is, weed as a personality and also abs as a personality, bad parenting, bad policing, Zap Efron, and our new movie pitch for a film that is destined to fail, even though it stars Rock "The Dwayne" Johnson.

Want more Steven King spooky kids? Obviously you need to be listening to Episode 206- "Carrie." Want more of John Beasley? It's a stretch, I know, but he's the only person in this film who has been in anything else we've done. Apparently he is in Episode 109- "The Purge." Want more Zac Efron? Us either.

In this week's episode, we're joined by special guest Eli Bosnick of many podcasts but most relevantly "God Awful Movies" to discuss the 2017 found footage Christian horror film "The Lock In." HOO BOY. Special topics for your consideration include: an honest and heartfelt look at the effects of pornography on our culture and-- no, who am I kidding? This is definitely one of our most NSFW episodes in a long time. Come for the BCA (you'll find out...) and stick around until the end to hear a way in which you can win fabulous prizes!

Turns out the Christian right doesn't have a lot of horror chops. You might enjoy some religiously-themed horror movies that are much, much better: Episode 45- "Rosemary's Baby," Episode 73- "The Witch," Episode 77- "The Omen," Episode 155- "The Exorcist, "Episode 206- "Carrie," Episode 270- "Midsommar" or Episode 327- "The Vigil."

In this week's episode, we're just rolling around in some of our favorite actors to watch: you've got Karen Black, Oliver Reed, Bette Davis, and Burgess Meredith (kinda) in the 1976 creepy film "Burnt Offerings." Special topics for your consideration include: a special message for new listeners, things you can get away with when you're Oliver Reed, hairstyles as a plot device, striving to be like Bette Davis, and a real lack of concern for children's safety in the 70s.

Two of our favorite weird movies that we've covered over the years feature some of these actors. You may enjoy Episode 123- "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" and Episode 177- "The Brood."

In one of the ultimate mood swings from last week's silly fever dream of a movie, this week we're discussing the 2019 psychological horror film "The Lighthouse." Special topics for your consideration include: a lovely production of "Treasure Island," limits to manual labor abilities, a perpetual fear of isolated places, a little chat about art, a little chat about farts, a sprinkling of Greek mythology and of course, dick jokes.

Want more Robert Pattinson? You could listen to our own descents into madness with the "Twilight" series (and we only covered two of them!) The original is Episode 355; "Breaking Dawn Pt. 1" was Episode 359. And please don't even ask when we're doing Part 2 because I am genuinely still not okay from the first half.

In true Werewolf Ambulance fashion, we're skipping the sequel entirely and hurtling towards the conclusion of the "It's Alive" franchise with the third film, "Island of the Alive." Special topics for your consideration include: subpar movie punks, parenting choices one ought not to make, beefcake cops, whatever movie Michael Moriarty thinks he is in, a boat filled with bodies crashing into a marina and the kindness of the Cuban people.

We covered "It's Alive" last week in Episode 376. You may also like the Larry Cohen film "The Stuff," featured in Episode 180. Apparently he also made a movie called "God Made Me Do It" about a half-man/half-alien cult leader so I guess I know what I'm watching tonight!

KILLER BABIES! All killer baby movies are, on some level, pretty batshit. This one takes the cake. We're discussing the 1974 film "It's Alive!" and it is a wild ride. Special topics for your consideration include: a film written from the perspective of absolutely no one, cops who can't hit a baby in a bush, the utter distastefulness of the 70s decor color palette, deadbeat uncles, poker-playing dads-to-be, and the sound of a grown man vomiting.

Do you like murderous tots? Perhaps you'd enjoy Episode 77- "The Omen," Episode 177- "The Brood," and Episode 216- "The Devil Within Her."
